In 2011 Adam Mcquillan, then aged 8 was hit by a car and left in coma for 10 weeks, suffering serious brain injuries. Adam's family were told by doctors that the injuries would be permanent, but now 7 years on Adam has fought hard to recover and is now back at school leading a normal happy life. During Adam's recovery process Chaddy the Owl went beyond the call of duty and made regular visits to the hospital, giving Adam and his family moral support. Since then Wayne Hurst who undertakes the role of Chaddy the Owl has kept in touch with Adam and his family and has continued to offer his support.
In November 2018 Wayne reached out to his Facebook followers asking for sponsorship to help purchase a new Chaddy the Owl suit as the current one was no longer fit for purpose. Given what Wayne has does for Adam and the Mcquillian family, it was an easy decision for MBS to sponsor the new Mascot suit . We are proud to continue our long standing relationship with Oldham Athletic and to see the MBS logo represented on the new Chaddy the Owl suite for the 2018 -2019 season.
